I am interested in design, pattern, color and the relationship of the creative process and how it relates to the form and function of each pot. The designs intuitively balance with the eye while building in a freestyle manner. I am a painter, a potter and bring the two techniques together with outcomes that flow with the vessel I am building. I never know the end result myself until completion, I just begin working with a surprise outcome. The beauty of clay is that you can take away or add anytime.

I started college as a drawing and painting major and took ceramics my second year and have traded canvas for clay. Just as a painter does not paint the same painting over and over, I do not paint my pottery the same over and over. My philosophy when making a wheel thrown or hand built artwork, is to treat it as I would a new canvas.

The selection of work here is not production pottery but a collection of my thoughts and ideas. I always have something in the works behind this facade as my ideas evolve into physical products. Not everything can be shown here because I keep away pieces I want to possibly enter into juried shows or a newgallery. However, it is a good representation of my style.
